- Season the Shrimp
Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels to help the seasoning stick and create a better blackened coating. Place the shrimp in a bowl and toss with Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper until evenly coated.
- Cook the Garlic Butter Base
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter. Once the butter melts, add minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Be careful not to burn the garlic, as it can become bitter.
- Blacken the Shrimp
Add the seasoned shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for 2–3 minutes per side until the shrimp turns pink, develops a slightly blackened coating, and is cooked through. Avoid overcooking, as shrimp can become rubbery quickly.
- Finish and Serve
Reduce the heat and add the remaining butter to the skillet. Stir until melted and coats the shrimp with the garlic butter sauce. Add fresh lemon juice and chopped parsley. Serve immediately with rice, pasta, crusty bread, or your favorite vegetables.
