Ingredients
4
Person(s)
  • 4 cup
    Whole milk
  • 4 oz
    Dark Chocolate
  • 2 tbsp
    Unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tbsp
    Granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp
    Ground Cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp
    Chili Powder
  • 1 tsp
    Pure vanilla extract
Directions
  • Warm the Milk

Pour the milk into a medium saucepan and place it over medium heat. Stir occasionally until the milk is hot and steaming, but do not let it boil.

  • Melt the Chocolate

Add the chopped dark chocolate, cocoa powder, sugar, cinnamon, chili powder, and salt to the warm milk. Whisk continuously until the chocolate melts completely and the mixture becomes smooth and creamy.

  • Finish the Hot Chocolate

Stir in the vanilla extract. Continue whisking for another minute to create a slightly frothy texture. Taste and adjust the sweetness or spice level if desired.

  • Serve

Pour the hot chocolate into four mugs. Top with whipped cream, chocolate shavings, or an extra sprinkle of cinnamon if you'd like. Serve immediately while hot.
