Ingredients

Person(s)
  • 1 cup
    Fresh ginger
  • 1/2 cup
    Fresh turmeric root
  • 2 large
    Lemon
  • 1½ cup
    Cold filtered water
  • 1/8 tsp
    Cayenne pepper
  • 1 tbsp
    Honey
Directions
  • Prepare the Ingredients

Wash, peel, and roughly chop the fresh ginger and turmeric. Juice the lemons and measure the remaining ingredients.

  • Blend Everything Together

Add the ginger, turmeric, lemon juice, water, cayenne pepper, honey (if using), and black pepper to a high-speed blender. Blend for 1–2 minutes until completely smooth.

  • Strain the Shot

Pour the blended mixture through a fine-mesh strainer or cheesecloth into a pitcher or bowl. Press firmly to extract as much liquid as possible. Discard or compost the remaining pulp.

  • Chill and Serve

Transfer the liquid to a sealed glass bottle or jar and refrigerate until cold. Shake well before each serving and pour about 2 ounces into a small glass to enjoy.
