Ingredients

Person(s)
  • 500 g
    Boneless chicken breast or thighs
  • 1 cup
    Buttermilk
  • 1 cup
    All-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup
    Cornstarch
  • 1 tsp
    Garlic Powder
  • 1 tsp
    Paprika
  • 1/2 tsp
    Onion Powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    Salt
  • 1/2 tsp
    Black pepper
  • 1 large
    Egg
  • 1/2 cup
    Mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp
    Sweet chili sauce
  • 1-2 tbsp
    Sriracha
  • 1 tsp
    Honey
  • 1 tsp
    Rice vinegar or lemon juice
Directions
  • Marinate the Chicken

Place chicken pieces in a bowl and pour over buttermilk.
Mix well so all pieces are coated evenly. Let it rest for 10–15 minutes to tenderize and enhance flavor while you prepare the coating.

  • Coat the Chicken

In one bowl, mix flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, paprika, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.

In a separate bowl, lightly beat the egg.

Remove chicken from buttermilk. Dip each piece into egg, then coat thoroughly in the seasoned flour mixture.
Press gently so the coating sticks well. Set aside on a plate.

  • Air Fry Until Crispy

Preheat air fryer to 390°F (200°C) for 3–5 minutes.
Lightly spray the basket with oil and arrange chicken in a single layer.

Spray the tops lightly with oil and air fry for 12–15 minutes, shaking halfway through, until golden brown and fully cooked.

  • Make Sauce & Serve

While chicken cooks, mix mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, honey, and vinegar in a bowl until smooth and creamy.

Let chicken rest for 2 minutes after cooking.
Toss with sauce or drizzle over the top for extra coating.

Serve immediately while crispy with rice, salad, or lettuce wraps.
