Ingredients
1
Person(s)
  • 6
    Oreo cookies
  • 3 tbsp
    Whole milk
  • 1 tbsp
    Unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 tsp
    Baking Powder
  • 1 tbsp
    Mini Chocolate Chips
  • 1 tbsp
Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream
Directions
  • Crush the Oreos

Place the Oreo cookies into a large microwave-safe mug. Using the back of a spoon or a small pestle, crush the cookies into fine crumbs until there are no large pieces remaining. The finer the crumbs, the smoother and more cake-like the final texture will be.

  • Mix the Batter

Pour the whole milk into the mug and stir thoroughly until the crushed cookies form a thick, smooth batter. Add the unsweetened cocoa powder and baking powder, mixing well until everything is fully incorporated and no dry streaks remain. If you're using mini chocolate chips, gently fold them into the batter now. They'll melt as the cake cooks, creating pockets of rich chocolate throughout every bite.

  • Microwave the Mug Cake

Place the mug in the microwave and cook on High for 60 to 90 seconds, depending on the wattage of your microwave. The cake should rise nicely and appear set on top while remaining soft and moist in the center. Avoid overcooking, as this can make the mug cake dry instead of tender. If needed, microwave for an additional 10 seconds until just cooked through.

  • Cool, Garnish & Serve

Allow the mug cake to rest for 1 minute before serving. This brief cooling time helps the cake finish setting while keeping it soft and fluffy. Top with whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an extra indulgent treat. Finish with a generous sprinkle of crushed Oreo cookies for added crunch, extra chocolate flavor, and a bakery-style presentation. Serve immediately while warm and enjoy every rich, chocolatey bite.
