Ingredients

Person(s)
  • 1½ cup
    Fresh strawberries
  • 1 cup
    Freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup
    Granulated sugar
  • 4 cup
    Cold water
  • 1/2 cup
    Ice-cold sparkling water
  • 8-10
    Fresh basil leaves
Directions
  • Make the Strawberry Base

Add the sliced strawberries and sugar to a blender. Blend until completely smooth. For an extra-smooth lemonade, strain the puree through a fine-mesh sieve to remove the seeds.

  • Mix the Lemonade

In a large pitcher, combine the fresh lemon juice, strawberry puree, and cold water. Stir well until the sugar has fully dissolved. Taste and add more sugar or water if needed.

  • Add the Basil

Lightly clap the basil leaves between your hands to release their natural oils, then add them to the pitcher. Let the lemonade chill in the refrigerator for at least 20–30 minutes so the basil flavor can infuse without becoming overpowering.

  • Serve

Fill serving glasses with ice cubes. Stir the lemonade well before pouring into each glass. Top with sparkling water if using, then garnish with fresh basil leaves, lemon slices, and fresh strawberries. Serve immediately while cold.
