- Prepare the Tortilla Base
Start by placing a large flour tortilla on a clean cutting board or flat surface.
Make sure the tortilla is soft and at room temperature so it folds easily without tearing.Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, make a single straight cut from the center of the tortilla down to the bottom edge. This cut will help you create the signature folded triangle structure.
Before adding fillings, gently press the tortilla to make it flat and even, ensuring all sections are clearly divided for easy layering.
- Add Ingredients in Sections
Now mentally divide the tortilla into four equal quarters.
In the bottom-left section, spread mayonnaise evenly, followed by Dijon mustard for a tangy, creamy base layer.
In the top-left section, place the deli turkey slices neatly. If needed, fold the slices slightly so they stay within the section and don’t overlap into other areas.
In the top-right section, layer the cheddar cheese slices evenly so they melt smoothly during cooking.
In the bottom-right section, add chopped lettuce, diced tomatoes, and sliced cucumbers. Try to keep the vegetables evenly distributed but avoid overfilling, as too much filling can make folding difficult.
- Fold the Tortilla into a Triangle Wrap
Now begin the folding process carefully.
Start with the bottom-left section (mayonnaise and mustard) and fold it upward over the turkey section. Press gently so it sticks in place.
Next, fold the stacked left side over to the right side (cheese section), forming a layered triangle shape.
Finally, fold everything downward over the vegetable section to complete the compact folded wrap.
At this point, all ingredients should be neatly layered inside a sealed triangular tortilla pocket.
- Toast, Crisp & Serve
Brush both sides of the folded tortilla lightly with olive oil or melted butter. This helps achieve a golden, crispy exterior and enhances flavor.
Heat a nonstick skillet or grill pan over medium heat. Once hot, place the wrap in the pan carefully.
Cook for 2 to 3 minutes per side, pressing gently with a spatula to ensure even browning and crisp texture. The tortilla should turn golden brown, and the cheese inside should become warm and slightly melted.
Once cooked, transfer the wrap to a cutting board and let it rest for about 1 minute. This helps the layers set and makes slicing easier.
Cut the wrap in half diagonally and serve immediately while hot, crispy on the outside, and warm and flavorful inside.
